Dear LVSSC Members,
Have the dog days of summer been nipping
at your heels lately? Getting a little hot
under the collar as you sit in commuter
traffic? Has the act of putting gas into your
vehicle turned into cardiac convulsions?
If you have answered yes to any of those
questions you may need a serious remedy;
a LVSSC ski trip!
By signing up for a LVSSC trip you can magically
handle all the stress and strain of everyday life;
because you know soon enough you’ll be in a winter
wonderland. AHHHHH soothing sights and sounds where
the only thing to worry about is what runs to take.
Group travel is a beautiful thing! All the details are taken care of not to mention the huge
saving from the group discounts for lift tickets, lodging and transportation. There is not an
internet site that will take care of you like our trip leaders do!
My recommendation for beating those summer time blues is to attend our annual Trip
Night Fri. August 8th @ Beckers Lakeside 8603 W. Sahara @ Durango 6;00pm. Brian
Flickinger the National Sales Manager from the Vail Management Company has
graciously accepted our invitation to speak to our members that evening. Two of the ski
areas on our LVSSC trip calendar are owned by Vail Resorts Heavenly and Keystone. You’ll receive new for this season info on all the Vail Resorts family of ski areas. Trip
leaders will be on hand to premiere their vacation packages, answer questions and take
deposits. DON’T MISS THIS EVENT! All members who make deposits on trips that night
will be entered to win GREAT PRIZES!
I bet you are feeling calmer and cooler
just thinking about…. sleigh rides,
catching fresh tracks, laughing with
friends après a terrific ski day, the quiet
solitude of Nordic skiing thru picture
postcard scenery, screaming down a ski
tube hill like a kid again and all the
rekindled and new friendships formed.

General Membership Meeting CANCELLED in lieu of Trip Night on
August 8th & BOD is at John Mason’s home at 6 pm.
On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, the Club usually
gathers at the Stake Out Bar & Grill; Social hour from 5:30 to 6:30, the meeting starts at 6:30 pm.

General Meeting topics and agenda typically include a host to welcome all members, guest speakers, informative and relevant programs and presentations, trip presentations and sign-ups, question and answer periods, and a social hour.
